Our Team

Dr. David Vinci was born and raised in the Rome area. He received a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude from St. John Fisher and a Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

He completed his optometric externships at W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC, Advanced Eye Care with Dr. Sarit Catchatoorian in Charlotte, NC, and Wrigley Eye Associates in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Vinci obtained honors upon completion of all externships. He also completed an internship at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA, focusing on pediatrics, low vision, ocular emergencies, and glaucoma services, as well as providing primary care.

Dr. Vinci prides himself on giving his absolute best to his patients. You may see Dr. Vinci in 2 of our current locations—he divides his time between the Boonville and Rome offices. His genuine concern and friendliness towards his patients make him a true asset to our team.

Dr. Vinci is a lifelong resident of Rome and where he continues to reside with his family.

Dr. Lauren Pierson is originally from Western Canada, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science with distinction from the University of Alberta.

She completed her Doctorate of Optometry with Beta Sigma Kappa honors from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.

She completed her externship training at the South Boston Community Health Center, and she performed primary care optometric services at the Bascom Palmer Institute in Miami, Florida, where she focused on ocular disease, pediatrics, and vision therapy.

Dr. Pierson sees patients in our Rome and Boonville offices. She prides herself on giving thorough, compassionate care and always listening to her patient’s needs.

Dr. Nichole Pollard grew up in New Hartford, NY. She attended SUNY College at Geneseo as a part of an accelerated program coordinated with SUNY College of Optometry in New York City. She graduated Geneseo cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Biology and a minor in psychology.

She then attended SUNY College of Optometry, where she was a part of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and graduated with a Doctor of Optometry at the top of her class.

Dr. Pollard participated in externships at Eyecare of CNY in Syracuse, SUNY Optometry Pediatrics, and at the Syracuse VA. During her externships, she fit and evaluated many patients for specialty contact lenses and treated mild to advanced ocular disease, including post-operative cases. She also evaluated patients from 2 months old to 18 years old in both hospitals and private practice settings, many of whom faced cognitive challenges related to Down syndrome and autism spectrum disorder.

At the Syracuse VA, Dr. Pollard loved giving back to the veterans as much as possible. She often saw and treated patients with potentially blinding diseases, including advanced diabetes, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. She completed her internship at SUNY College of Optometry, where she rotated through clinics heavy in ocular disease and contact lenses.

Dr. Pollard is passionate about specialty contact lenses and serving the pediatric population but loves caring for patients of all ages. She currently lives in Westmoreland, NY, and is excited to give back to the community where she grew up.

Kristen has been an essential member of our office since 2000. If you don’t see Kristen’s smiling face when you first walk in, you will undoubtedly hear her laughter.

In May 2008, under Dr. Vinci’s supervision, she completed an apprenticeship program to become a New York State Licensed Dispensing Optician. She is certified by the American Board of Opticianry and is a graduate fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry. Additionally, Kristen serves as the Office Manager for our Boonville location.

As a healthcare professional, Kristen helps patients select and fit prescription eyewear while managing staff, inventory, and finances. Her responsibilities combine dispensing eyewear with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the optical center. She works with customers to choose the best type of glasses for their vision and lifestyle, ensuring that the eyewear fits comfortably. Kristen also interprets prescriptions from the optometrists, measures, adapts, repairs, fits lenses, and dispenses eyeglasses.

Kristen grew up in Port Leyden, where she still lives and raised her family. Her greatest joy comes from traveling out of state to visit her two sons and their families, as well as spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

In her leisure time, Kristen enjoys riding her Harley Davidson, cruising in her Corvette convertible, and attending car shows. An animal lover, she has two very spoiled Weimaraners. She values quality family time, indulges in retail therapy, and loves to travel.

Scott has over 20 years of experience in the optical profession and is a licensed optician in New York State. He joined our team in January 2020.

Scott is dedicated to helping customers choose the best type of glasses for their vision and lifestyle, ensuring a comfortable fit. He interprets prescriptions from our optometrists, measures and adjusts lenses, and dispenses eyeglasses. Additionally, he assists customers in selecting frames, ensures they fit well, makes repairs, and may even shape or reshape frames as needed.

Scott lives in Frankfort, NY, with his wife, Christine, and their beloved dog, Chloe. In his free time, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, going on sightseeing trips with his wife, and spending quality time with his grandchildren and family.

Linda is the Billing Coordinator at Adirondack Eye Care Center and has been with the office since 2010. She joined the team with prior experience in optometric billing. Linda is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing for optometry services, managing insurance claims, and resolving billing discrepancies for both patients and insurance companies. Additionally, she addresses patient inquiries about billing, manages outstanding balances, assists with billing issues, helps set up payment plans, and collaborates with healthcare professionals to gather necessary information for precise billing.

In her role, Linda also makes doctor referrals, schedules appointments, and supports the front desk with insurance verification.

Linda resides in Forestport with her husband, Paul. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and relaxing by the lake. She is thrilled when her three grown children come home to visit.

Kendra is one of our friendly Optometric Technicians. As she brings you into our high-tech pre-testing area, her responsibilities include conducting preliminary tests, such as visual acuity, color blindness, and depth perception tests, as well as recording patient medical histories. She will then utilize diagnostic equipment like autorefractors, tonometers, and visual field analyzers to gather important information that will assist your optometrist during your comprehensive eye health exam. Additionally, Kendra handles contact lens ordering for our patients and assists with scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and various front office duties.

Kendra joined our practice in 2021 and has been a wonderful addition to the team. She resides in Boonville with her husband, Zack, and their son, Owen. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, spending time outdoors, and being with her family and friends.

Melissa is another one of our Optometric Technicians. She joined our team in the fall of 2022 and will greet you with a smile as she calls you from the waiting room. Like Kendra, Melissa’s duties include conducting preliminary tests such as visual acuity, color blindness, and depth perception tests, as well as recording patient medical histories. She also uses diagnostic equipment, including autorefractors, tonometers, and visual field analyzers to gather diagnostic information that will assist your optometrist during your comprehensive eye health exam. In addition to testing, she assists with scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and other front office tasks.

Melissa has been a longtime resident of Port Leyden, where she lives with her husband, Kevin, and their children. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as crafting.

Ashley is the newest member of our team, having relocated from South Carolina to join us. With her friendly Southern charm, she greets everyone with a smile.

Ashley is committed to ensuring that your check-in and check-out experience is as smooth as possible. She keeps your records updated and assists with scheduling appointments, taking messages, forwarding calls, answering your insurance questions, and processing payments.

Currently, she resides in Port Leyden with her fiancé and their two fur pups: Sasha and Bear. Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and in her spare time, she loves crafting, kayaking, traveling, and camping.
